About two
weeks ago, Pontiac announced that would head to the 2016 Detroit Auto Show with
a 2+2 2017 Firebird concept car that will preview the long-rumored Pontiac
sports car. Today the company revealed the concept’s official new image of the
concept.
This new concept
is named the 2017 Firebird and, according to the details that Pontiac gave us,
it will bring into focus the latest version of Pontiac’s signature "Tiger
Nose" grille.
Along with
the revised grille, the 2017 Firebird will also feature vertical LED headlights
flanking the white surround of the grille, brake cooling vents, 20-inch wheels
and a carbon fiber front splitter mounted below the bumper. This first image
really gives us a nice look at this striking front end, and we simply cannot
wait to see it.
On top of
this awesome-looking nose, this concept will carry a 2.0-liter turbocharged
engine that delivers a total of 315 horsepower to the rear wheels through a
six-speed, close-ratio manual transmission.
