Pontiac has confirmed that the 2017 Firebird high-performance sedan will return to the company’s lineup in late 2016.
Although Pontiac has yet to unveil actual details of the car, the 2017 Pontiac Firebird is likely to arrive with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that delivers 455 horsepower. The new Firebird will be based on the upcoming facelifted Firebird and sold until 2019.

In related news, Pontiac also revealed plans to host a series of actions next year to “ensure the final Firebird models celebrate the brand’s iconic status.”
